A website build for a low impact, sustainable wellness festival.

At the beginning of April 2022, the inaugural Wellness wander event took place in the Adelaide Hills. The operators—who select exceptional regions around Australia to deliver low impact, sustainable wellness events for both visitors and the community—worked with local producers, artisans, creatives and practitioners to help them showcase or craft wellness-themed activities. The result was a thriving immersive exploration of wellness in the region that brought much-needed tourism back after the devastating fires of 2019. Wellness wander’s aim is to not only support local community health, wellbeing, and sustainability, but to promote the value of accessible wellness experiences for all and contribute to a thriving and resilient tourism community. The Wellness wander team came to us to build them a website for the event.

As this event will be relocated each year in a new region and entirely new event listings, it was important for the operators to be able to quickly and easily upload new offerings as well as change the imagery and content themselves. So, we built them a custom WordPress site which facilitated this. Knowing that their beautiful imagery would be the cornerstone of their marketing campaign, we opted for a design to best showcase this.

We knew that the vast majority of Wellness wander’s audience would be accessing the site on mobile so we went to great measures to make sure everything looked great on smaller devices. This is something that we do as standard when we build any website but with an event that has a program and itinerary, there are extra intricacies you can fine-tune to maximise the experience for the user.
