Building one trusted master brand from six separate businesses.
Positive Collective came to Embark with twenty years in the market, over 100 staff and operations across three countries. Six specialist teams covered coaching, sales, asset management, finance, tax and specialist providers. The market saw six separate companies rather than one connected offer, and the identities were literal and dated, which undercut the trust investors need before they commit. Our role was to build the brand architecture, define the master brand and make the strength of the group visible.
Looking literal was costing them authority.
The business was in strong shape. Over 100 staff, three countries, thousands of clients coached and more than twenty years in property investment. The brand told a much smaller story. Each business had been named and designed in isolation, and the identities were as literal as they come. Positive Real Estate was a house with a plus sign on it.
Trust is the whole game in this category. Investors hand over their savings, their borrowing capacity and their long term plans, so they read every signal before they commit. Six unconnected logos made the group look like six unrelated suppliers. Referrals relied on people explaining the relationship instead of the brand showing it. The group needed an architecture that made six teams read as one.
Brand architecture was the real work.
Months of discovery came before any visual decision. We interviewed leadership and teams across every business, mapping what each one sold, who it served and where the overlaps sat. Six audiences, six languages, six different views of the customer. We took the group through the architecture options and landed on a branded house.
Positive Collective became the master brand, with six sub brands beneath it as the six star team. Purpose, vision, values and essence sit at master level. Positioning and messaging were written individually wherever the customer changed. We also trademarked the identity in Australia and overseas, because a branded house concentrates value into one mark and that mark needs protecting.
One symbol had to carry six teams.
The idea came from the group's own language. They had been calling themselves the six star team for years, and it described how the business actually works. A client moves between teams as their needs change. We built the mark from a six pointed star that also reads as a cog. Six parts, one form, always turning.
Dropping the literal property cues gave the brand room to cover finance, tax and asset management without every touchpoint shouting real estate. The system pairs one mark and one master wordmark with a descriptor that changes by department. Colour does the differentiating, so clients know which team they are dealing with without ever leaving the master brand.
A system only counts once it is in market.
Rollout followed the architecture exactly. Every business took the same mark, the same typography and the same tone, with only the descriptor and the colour changing. Guidelines and templates were built so a team of more than 100 people could apply the brand without going back to a designer for every asset.
Consistency changed how the group sells. A client who meets the finance team recognises the brand when they are introduced to tax or asset management, so the cross referral model the business had always run informally is now carried by the brand itself. Trademark protection locked the system in place as the group expands.
The outcome: a master brand that finally matches the business.
Positive Collective now presents as what it always was, one group with six specialist teams and a single standard behind them. Every sub brand inherits the credibility of the master brand from day one, and the structure extends as new services come on. Marketing builds one name instead of six. Referrals move because the connection between teams is visible rather than explained. In property and finance, where trust decides who gets the call, the brand now carries its own weight.
Six teams. One mark. One standard. Trusted on sight.
