In 2020 Stuart Osman Building Design came to Embark with what many businesses spend years trying to build: deep experience, a respected name in market, and a steady flow of work. But the brand had not kept pace with the calibre of the business. Across Stuart Osman Building Design, MISO Collective and Manage Design Construct, the identity lacked cohesion, strategic clarity and the level of polish needed to reflect their true position in the industry. Our role was to reposition the business from a high-volume, underpriced service provider into a premium, design-led brand with the authority to lead.

Turning experience into market authority.
Despite more than 30 years of experience and an impressive body of work, the business was still being perceived through the wrong lens. The market saw capability, but not leadership. It saw output, but not strategic value. While the work itself was high level, the brand presence across the three entities felt disconnected, with DIY visual identities, inconsistent positioning and little distinction between each offer. This created a gap between perception and reality, leaving serious commercial value on the table. The challenge was not a lack of credibility. It was a lack of strategic expression. Stuart Osman had already built the reputation. The business simply was not leveraging it in a way that commanded the recognition, pricing confidence and premium positioning it deserved. To compete at the top end of the market, the brand needed to stop looking like a collection of services and start presenting as a considered, high-value ecosystem led by an expert with decades of proven experience.
Creating a brand architecture built for growth.
Our strategy centred on creating clarity, hierarchy and commercial alignment across the business. We restructured the brand through a sub-brand architecture, positioning Stuart Osman as the master brand and establishing MISO Collective and Manage Design Construct as aligned extensions within a more cohesive system. This gave the business a stronger foundation, allowing each arm to speak to its audience more clearly while still building equity back into the overall brand. Just as importantly, we shifted the strategic narrative. Instead of communicating around deliverables alone, we repositioned the business around expertise, lifestyle outcomes and the unique value of designs that are not just conceptual, but actually built. We also identified Stuart Osman’s personal reputation as a major asset and used that credibility to anchor the entire brand. The result was a clearer market story, a stronger premium signal and a platform built to support future growth across residential, commercial and construction.
Building a premium identity across every touchpoint.
With the strategic direction defined, we developed a complete brand and messaging system to bring the repositioning to life. This included ideal customer clarity, a refined positioning framework, a stronger brand narrative and messaging that better articulated the real value behind the business. Rather than speaking like a drafting service, the brand now speaks like an experienced, design-led authority with a deep understanding of what clients actually want to achieve. Visually, we redesigned the identity across all three brands to create a more elevated and cohesive expression. Stuart Osman Building Design became the refined, premium master brand. MISO Collective was positioned with a more architectural, developer-focused feel. Manage Design Construct was developed with a bolder, more structured construction-led presence. Each brand was given its own role and character, while still feeling unmistakably connected as part of one considered business system.
Elevating the brand in market.
A strong strategy means very little if it only lives in a document. That is why the rollout was designed to carry the new positioning through every meaningful touchpoint. We guided the direction for website content and design, refined marketing collateral, extended the brand across signage and environmental applications, and ensured apparel and uniforms reflected the premium standard of the business. Social media direction was also aligned to support a more consistent, elevated market presence. This gave the business more than a visual refresh. It created a brand experience that now feels deliberate, credible and commercially mature at every level. From the first impression online to the way the team shows up in the field, each touchpoint now reinforces the same message: this is a premium, design-led business with the experience and structure to lead the market.
